Manaslu Trekking
With an altitude of 8,163 meters the Manaslu is the eighth highest peak in the world. The name Manaslu means “Spirit Mountain” in the local dialect; it refers to the strong but benevolent deity who resides there. The Manaslu is located near the border to Tibet. This region, characterized by a rich cultural heritage and unique landscapes, was opened to the outside world in 1992.
The tour around the Manaslu is now a popular trekking route through untouched mountain landscapes. The journey begins at 500 m and first leads the trekkers through a fertile valley. After a climb of several days you reach the Manaslu Glacier and the Larkya La Pass at 5,189 m.
Manaslu trekking is a wonderful adventure that allows for enriching contact with the local people. The trip not only lets the trekkers discover one of the most beautiful areas in Nepal, but also provides them with an unforgettable insight into the life of the local population.
